Why the Pegasus?

We like horses. A lot.

Our founder has a particular fondness for them. And Pegasus, the mythical flying horse in Greek mythology, is our symbol because Pegasus was famous for helping gods and heroes achieve great victories – even when the odds seemed to be too challenging to overcome – just like health care workers, scientists, and public health professionals do when they identify solutions to some of our greatest health challenges.

Pegasus is known for an eternal spring of imagination and creativity – the traits The St. John Group demonstrates in our work with our clients at the CDC, APHL, GHC and other critical governmental agencies.

That is why you see a winged horse in the background of many pages on this site, and why our logo is a Pegasus. It means something to us.

Our Story

The St. John Group was founded in 2003 to deliver meaningful IT solutions to enhance business processes. TSJG has built a reputation for not only delivering the right technology solutions, but also facilitating collaboration between organizations that may be working together for the first time. No matter the client, large or small, public or private sector, we believe the right approach always puts people first.

Today, the company focuses on ensuring laboratory data accuracy. As a people-oriented company, we recognize the critical role our clients play in the field of public health, and share their mission-focused approach. Some of our notable past projects include:

  • Developing an interoperable electronic data exchange architecture for public health laboratories involving collaboration between the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL), state public health laboratories, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
  • Creating a national network for sharing laboratory information between nine federal agencies and multiple state public health agencies – a project of the Integrated Consortium of Laboratory Networks (ICLN), created by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
  • Managing site area redesigns and upgrades for the American Cancer Society’s Web site and other online properties including the Cancer Survivor’s Network.
  • Designing social media and digital communication strategies to engage users while conveying immunization health messages for the CDC’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Disease.

Although the opportunities, challenges, and solutions change over time, our core values remain the same: ‘Mission First, People Always.’ We remain focused on delivering the right solutions for our clients and the people they serve. We always strive to take care of each other, each other’s families, and our clients.
